A4ID has facilitated pro bono legal services for more than 900 development organisations in more than 120 jurisdictions globally. This has been made possible by a vast network of legal partners, that provide access to more than 50,000 legal professionals.

Ensuring Access to Legal Support

A4ID strongly believes that the law and lawyers need to play an integral part in sustainable development, in order to achieve its mission of the eradication of global poverty. Programmes and Partnerships

Pro Bono Legal Service

A4ID’s international Pro Bono Legal Service brokerage brings legal partners together with development organisations who require their particular legal expertise. A4ID works with development organisations to identify their legal needs and find suitable legal assistance to provide spoort, free of charge. For legal professionals, a range of these vetted, high quality pro bono opportunities are offered to A4ID’s legal partners each week.

Legal Pro Bono Rwanda (LPBR)

A4ID has partnered with Legal Aid Forum Rwanda to deliver the LPBR Programme, supported through Clifford Chance Foundation’s Cornerstone Initiative. The programme aims to ensure access to free legal support for the poorest and most vulnerable people and communities in Kigali, Rwanda. The LPBR Programme is implemented in collaboration with three civil society organisations: Human Rights First Rwanda Association; ARDHO – Association Rwandaise pour la Défense des Droits de l’Homme ; and HAGURUKA.
