About A4ID

Advocates for International Development (A4ID) is a UK-based charity that channels legal expertise globally toward the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Founded in 2006, A4ID's vision is to see the law and lawyers play their full part in the global eradication of poverty. A4ID partners with world’s top legal professionals and development organisations to facilitate high-quality, free legal and technical support to advance the SDGs and improve the Rule of Law.

Pro Bono Legal Service

The International Pro Bono Legal Service is a brokerage service that brings together global legal experts with development organisations who require their particular legal expertise for a range of legal issues.

ROLE UK Programme

The Rule of Law Expertise UK (ROLE UK) Programme works towards strengthening the rule of law in the UK Government’s FCDO-priority countries by supporting partnerships to provide high-quality pro bono legal and judicial expertise.

Legal Pro Bono Rwanda

The Legal Pro Bono Rwanda Programme comprises of a series of projects that are designed to improve access to justice and the welfare of the poorest and most vulnerable communities in Kigali, Rwanda.

A4ID Africa

A4ID Africa is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and aims to build a network of legal and development organisations through strategic collaborations to improve responsible business practices, strengthen the rule of law, and create a culture of pro bono in the region.

A4ID Foundation

A4ID Foundation is based in New Dehli, India, and aims to promote a unified culture of pro bono legal services across Asia, through strategic collaborations with national and regional bar associations, leading law firms, and governments.

Policy Research & Learning

A4ID’s Policy Research & Learning Programme focuses on creating resources for legal professionals to enable them to use their expertise to advance sustainable development and join the global fight to eradicate poverty.
