Law & SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) mark an opportunity for lawyers to make a tangible contribution to positive social and environmental change. They provide a global framework for lawyers to engage in sustainable development and to increase access to justice for individuals and communities everywhere.

The SDGs will help us engage our stakeholders in improving our contribution to eradicating poverty, protecting the environment, and empowering people and communities. The framework enables us to have greater impact on these issues through collaboration.

SDG Legal Initiative

The Legal Initiative is a call to action to the global legal profession to work towards the achievement of the SDG Agenda.

With now less than ten years left to realise the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Advocates for International Development (A4ID) has been continuing its innovative work towards meeting the 2030 targets, by harnessing the law and the work of lawyers.

The SDG Legal Initiative has been developed by lawyers, for lawyers, because it is now more important than ever that the global legal community needs to come together to use their skills to advance positive global change.
